McDonald’s Restaurant
Green, semi-urban pedestrian friendly McDonald's.
Opened in 1958 as one of the first McDonald's locations in the nation, this location adjoining Michigan State University has been twice rebuilt since the iconic walk-up "candy-stripe" stand with Golden Arches. Its semi-urban, landlocked location provided a special challenge in providing greenspace and the drive-thru lane required to sustain the site's feasibility. The solution is the unique, 2-story building shown here.
