Mid-Michigan Environmental Action Council’s Lunch Series

b4993710-8e41-4411-a6c3-e4f478ee08d0Stan Samuel , Director of Sustainable Construction at Society of Environmentally Responsible Facilities will be the featured speaker at Mid-Michigan Environmental Action Council’s (Mid-MEAC) for the Land Use Lunch Series on December 5th, at the Lansing Board of Water and Light (BWL) Depot Building in Lansing, Michigan. Stan Samuel will discuss his recent research on the use of Life Cycle Analysis to compare the use of an existing building versus building a new one.  His paper can be accessed at SERF-green.

 

The purpose of this presentation is to:

  • Identify energy consumption of new and existing buildings
  • Analyze data on new and existing building energy consumption
  • Identify opportunities for new development in changing markets related to building energy
  • Show how to turn place making opportunities into money.

The Mid-Michigan Environmental Action Council was founded on Earth Day in 1993, and serves Ingham, Easton, and Clinton Counties by translating environmental concerns into action by providing education, advocacy, and volunteer opportunities.
