Adjunct Professor, Michigan State University School of Planning, Design and Construction

Mr. Maguire owns and rehabilitates commercial properties in Michigan and Florida. He is a specialist in the adaptive reuse of older structures and is a published author in that field. His business was an early pioneer in providing public green space and trails and continues to underwrite new public sculptures, bike trails and parks– including Maguire Park in Lansing, Michigan.

He served on the Redevelopment Board for the adaptive reuse of the Lansing Board of Water & Light’s Ottawa Station, a distinctive Art Deco landmark listed in the National Register of Historic Places and the new LEED Platinum home to Accident Fund Insurance Company of America. As a member of the Blue Ribbon Committee to Retain GM, he helped bring the world’s first LEED Gold manufacturing plant to Lansing.

His professional memberships include Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers and AIA Chicago He is a Director of Mackinac Center for Public Policy and President of Wharton Center for Performing Arts at Michigan State University. He also holds the SFP (Sustainability Facility Professional) designation from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).

Mr. Maguire earned his Bachelors Degree in economics from Northwestern University and MS from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
